AMD 9800X3D ETA OFFICIAL THREAD

Would depend on when you can buy the 9950X3D.

Going by the product page for the 9800X3D any orders after midday on the 28/11/24 can not be garmented before Christmas and are expected mid to late Jan. By this point the 9950X3D maybe available before the 9800X3D is even in stock (if rumours are correct of it being released in Jan)

When did you order the 9800X3D?
 
not sure, I know im coming from an older gen, much older 9900k intel, At 4k it makes pretty much any difference. The extra cores of the 9950x3d would come in handy for the UE5 and Unity rendering i do.
 
I ordered one yesterday and the Gskill ram is also on preorder. Late Jan the product page says for the x3d.

Also interested in wether the 12 and 16 core chips have cache for each ccd, coming from a 5900x.

We are expecting a delivery in next 2-3 days of 150-200 units of 9800X3D so some of you still waiting will have one for Christmas. :)

I am also been informed the UK is expecting several thousand in January, as such we hope to clear all back orders by then and have stock, but again we suspect it won't last long.

Excellent! There was a post from someone who asked about orders/queue ect and I plugged it into chatgpt to guess roughly where I might be in the pecking order and it spat out between 150-250 range given when I ordered ect. Yes I am that downbad over it all.

Don't do this to me though, don't give me hope so close to my birthday (25th), I realise I'm not the messiah but I'm also not a very naughty boy and one time I even told my gf she was right, has to count for something.

Yeah, when they do not give you your position in the queue its hard to say how many people ordered before you.

Cheers, I looked at the 7800X3D but for the extra £20 I was better off getting the 9800X3D (Using an I7 9700K atm)

Sounds like we got similar upgrades on the go, I'm going from a 9900k.

I think knowing where you are in the queue would be nice but I get why they don't make promises, the updates have been very welcome
 
hmmm,I'll be leaving the UK on the 23rd....might not be enough, would i be able to go to OCUK HQ to pick it up ? , i have a preorder and am 100% in that batch, or maybe a DPD warehouse before I leave in the morning.... man this situation sucks.

I was not expecting an update so to see 1 was good and also good to see how many they are getting (roughly)

9700K has served me well and is going to be a plex server and the 9800X3D will be paired with my 4070Ti at 1440P
