Hi Guys/Gals

Some advice needed:confused:

I'm looking at getting the A10 Lightning system as a second PC for the kids as my main rig seems to be getting hijacked on an all too regular basis:)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-315-OE&groupid=43&catid=2385&subcat=2418

Will be used mainly for browsing, watching YouTube content and playing Minecraft etc

Firstly, is the A10 up to the task and if so, is it worth specifying faster RAM to improve the IGPU?

Thanks for the help:)

Yes it is, faster ram is good :)

Thanks

On paper, I assumed it would be fast enough for what the kids will need it for but the CPU side is slightly underwhelming.

Having said that, the other option is to build a system using my old Q6600 coupled with a GTX 260 I have lying around but when you factor in the slower DDR2 Ram & that I will still have to buy an operating system, the A10 Lightning at £364.00 delivered seems a Barry Bargain:)

Thanks, but as stated, will only be used for browsing, minecraft etc so with some cheap faster RAM, i'm hoping the shop system should be fine.

Also, i'd still need to factor in an operating system and that you get a 2 Year warranty with the shop system:)

Having said that, i would always self build my main rig, but really can't be bothered for this level of PC:)

The CPU in the A10 will destroy that workload, so whats the issue?

Hi

No issue, i've just ordered:)

Did specify slightly better Mobo + faster Geil Ram which should help to maximise the IGPU.

Also dropped the WiFi dongle for a 200mbs Power Line kit.

All built, delivered and 2 Year warranty for £411.00:)

Good Man!

The Faster RAM will vaugley future proof this beast so, GOOD TIMES!

Some Very Good choices and a Very good Price too. :)

Should keep the kids (and maybe wife!!) off my main system which if nothing else stops them downloading rubbish etc.

Not sure what to expect with the A10 but quite looking forward to messing with an AMD system.

Last one was an XP2800+:D

Seems to stack up pretty well against my old Intel Q6600 which wasn't too shabby.

Hi

Ok, A10 Lightening system arrived and upon popping the side panel for a quick peek, I was surprised to note that a Nvidia GT610 2Mb GPU was installed:confused:

Upon firing up the system, it's confirmed that the graphics are running on the discrete card and not the integrated 7660D as i imagined.

Then it occurred to me how would the IGPU output to monitor without the discrete card.

Am I going mad:confused::D
