AMD A64 3400+ running temp

I have an AMD 3400+ it is running at about 47 deg C. The problem is that my fan seems to run full blast all the time to keep it at this temp even under no real load.

I think I just need to change my bios tolerance levels how hot can this CPU safely run?

I have tried speed fan but it seems to be overridden by the bios.

If i change the smart fan settings in the bios to 50 deg C and the tolelrence to 5 it then runs quiet but at 55 - 58 deg C!

Is this too hot?

It runs very loud when set to 40 deg C and tollerence of 5

thats fine temp wise. my laptop 3400+ DTR passed80c when i got it without issue. so did my X2 4800+ before de-cap.
