AMD A64 Overclocking (SKT 939)

True, I'm only reading them off Speedfan, and it does have an internal and external temp for the CPU.. I presume the A64 chips have an internal sensor, and then I have one on my mobo too.. not sure though. But I am on a stock cooler, and the amb in my case is probably around 40 too.. will get a full listing off tonight :)

Cant get past 2.7
max FSB I can do is 300
max RAM speed I can do is 240
Max CPU speed is 2.7
Stable @ 2.6

any ideas people?

temps are fine, under 30 C idle, 40-45 on load

The Voltage Regulation Modules.. these can get very hot with upped volts I believe, and are often not cooled by standard. If you are lucky your mobo will have a sensor for them, install Speedfan and see if it picks it up. I'm pretty sure it is these that are limiting my overclock as my CPU temps are not getting that high when it locks.. even when I have my ram underclocked to remove it fro the equation.

i gots me a 3600 in my second, and that over clocks to just a slip over 3.2, default is 2.2 :)

what voltage you guys using on your cpus?

I got Speedfan loaded but which one is it?

oh and my Motherboard monitor CPU Temp is NOT the "core" temp, i thought it was a bit low. lol

I had to download an info pack from the speedfan site for my motherboard, then I got all the names for the sensors on.. presuming the person who created the config got it right!

And yes, my mother boards CPU sensor is normally around 8°C cooler than the core reading in the CPU.
