AMD Adaptive Sync?

Adaptive sync is a method to sync the monitor to your gfx instead of your gfx to your monitor. What it results in is tear free image with minimal input lag and no stuttering. It wont make your games run faster but it should improve the smoothness.

AMD is developing a software solution called Free Sync that takes advantage of Adaptive Sync to deliver the feature to the end user. Adaptive sync is simple a hardware function and does nothing unless its told to by software aka Drivers.

Adaptive sync is officially supported on Displayport 1.2a and forward, but that doesnt mean the monitor will support it unless it says so on the box. Ive read somewhere that from Displayport 1.3 and forward, the adaptive sync feature should become mandatory to monitor manufacturers but i dont know if this is true

Thanks mate for the important info.

If the monitor is DP 1.2a ready then it's Free Sync ready??

Also if your the sort of person not affected by input lag is the tech really necessary.
