Very vague on details!

I updated my 7800XT Nitro in the hopes it might fix the blue vertical bar/grey screen issue. The update jumps into safe mode to do it's work which had the side effect of messing with the local user account invalidating browser cookies/logins and even application / file types associations. Sigh, but apart from that no issues so far.

Did it help with the issue?

No, it still occured. Quite random and usually opening youtube is what triggers it. However I have recently applied a reg edit "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" DisableOverlays 1 and it hasnt happened since.

Gigabyte's response is "You paid $1000 for a Radeon? LOL get rekt you muppet"

No surprises from them they are trash level company and shocked all the time people recommend them.. Usually excused for having UK RMA center. Blaa blaa. Their 5000 series GPUs stuffed with thermal putty that pumps out everywhere says enough, because they could not be bothered to make right sized thermal pads and even when they had thermal pads they were so cheap they leaked the silicone oil all over the place. A company I have avoided for decades after dealing with their enterprise systems and motherboards.

I'm surprised they get recommended so much as well, their quality control has been in the toilet for years.
