Amd AM3 upgrade help

Hi, I currently have a phenom x2 550 be with 3 cores unlocked and overclocked to 3.4. I am looking to get 1 last upgrade before switching to intel next year and am looking for advice on choosing between the following:

X4 black edition 960t
or
X6 1045

Comp is used mainly for gaming. Would I see much of an upgrade in the above processors and which one would be best before and after the 960 is unlocked/overclocked?

Hi, may I ask what motherboard you have? have you checked the CPU support list to see if those two options are available to you with possibly a BIOS update?
 
In my opinion I wouldn't bother, save your money and get the new Intel processor when it
comes out.
 
If I had to pick one for gaming, then it would be the 960t as it has a higher core frequency out of the box (3.0Ghz vs 2.7Ghz) not taking into account the Turbo feature.

I have a spare £100 to upgrade. Won't be able to get the cash for intel mb etc until next year. If the performance upgrade is going to be negligible then I will wait until next year. But if I can get a decent performance boost from the above CPUs I will get one in the meantime.
