Hi

I have an am5 motherboard, 7800x3d and nvidia gpu.

I notice I keep getting AMD software notifications pop up in the taskbar updating its software, I opened it and I can see things like chipset drivers that installed and last updated as well as andrenalin edition app.

Do I need the Andrenlin app as well as the amd software app that updates all these things?

Thanks

I doubt you will need it and this is most likely down to the IGPU on the 7800X3D.

You could just disable the IGPU in the bios and uninstall the drivers.

This is what I did with my 9800X3D as I have a 5080

Thanks, I read the same about disabling it in bios, will have to study exactly how I do that then.

Where would I find the drivers to uninstall? I have looked in installs apps and have something called AMD chipset drivers, but pretty sure I need that.

Yeah, Chipset drivers you need as that's for the motherboard

You could try Start > Type Control panel > programs and features (this is the old Windows 10 control panel and add\remove programs).

If it not listed you could try Start > settings > Apps (on the left) > Installed Apps (on the right)

What board do you have? it should be a matter of finding the IGPU section and changing it to disabled > save and reboot.

Having a quick look

enter the BIOS (press Del during boot), go to Advanced Mode (F7), then navigate to Settings > Advanced > Integrated Graphics Configuration and set Integrated Graphics to Disabled

Having a look online some bios versions do not have it so you may need to update the bios to see the option.

Thanks will take a look.

Thinking about it perhaps I should leave it enabled In case my gpu went bad, I wouldn’t have a fallback, unless there is an easy way to reset the bios?

If you couldn't get back in for any reason, it looks like you'd have to use the CMOS reset jumper at the bottom of the board. Not too difficult. Unplug power, move jumper for 5-10s to short. Put jumper back, plug back in and away you go. :)
