AMD Announce Furyx2 (Gemini) performance

I'll see how it performs once it is released, we all seen how AMD made the fury X out to be something that it wasn't stating it'd be faster than titan X... we all seen how that ended up... not even able to beat the 980 Ti

The Fury X is known as being on average 5% faster than the 980Ti since Crimson drivers were launched.

"Roy also touched on driver improvements for the AMD lineup of graphics cards and confirms than any disadvantage they once had with their close rival Nvidia regarding drivers has disappeared."

Hmmmmmmmm I wonder if he realized ROTTR driver was quite late? lol

Patient people are rewarded.
I wouldn't say the Nvidia's ROTTR drivers where a runaway success tbh. They will need to improve this games considerably themselves.
Lets hold of judgement and see if these drivers were worth the wait first.

Tbh that FuryX faster then 980Ti/Titan chatter was mostly forum gossip and loose conjecture from random rumor mill sites.

Guru3D

Is that with AMD's new drivers?
Only fair to play that game on a level playing field.
Not that I am aware yet. I have not checked on the improvements since the release.
Actually I will have a quick look now.

I think this youtube video is a much fairer comparison tbh.

Putting Titan x 5-10% ahead. This is normal.
BTW why are your trying to show the AMD GPU in a bad light?
Both companies clearly make great GPU's.
To put the 980Ti and Fury X as I did, almost neck and neck, is the right placement for them.

How is it the TPU results and the Guru3D results vary so drastically? (both claim to be using the same driver versions for both GFX brands)
In Guru3D's results even over the 980 the Titan X/980Ti is showing ~40-50% more FPS!

Could it be quad-channel memory/extra cores in the Guru3D machine making the difference here?

Don't be silly. Everyone knows that all you need is a 2500k for gaming and upgrading to anything selse since then is a waste of money.

Are you saying the quad-channel memory and extra cores are slowing down the graphics cards?

Techpowerup get more FPS than Guru, not less.

Could be that Skylake's better IPC is running Tomb Raider better?

Skylake actually makes substantial gains on Haswell in specific games: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-intel-skylake-core-i7-6700k-review

Testing different parts of the map perhaps. Tomb Raider can vary a fair bit from section to section. I am sure when the FuryX2 is launched though, it will own in this game.
