as the title say's...i'm looking for a good AMD Athlon 3200+ Socket A CPU cooler (but i have no mounting holes on my motherboard)

I need something quite but that does the job, as at the moment my CPU is running at just below 50 degrees C and i need to get this down as much as possible!! but without the sacrifice of having to cope with listening to a hurricane in my pc cus of the fan!!!!

i have had a look around, and it's really hard to find, so can anyone name any good makes and models to make it a bit easier to find!!

i have had a look at the:
Gigabyte G-Power Pro (GH-PDU21-SC)
and
GigaByte Rocket Cooler Pro (GH-PCU22-VG)

what do people think of these? and what other good ones are out there?

Thanks a lot,
Lad.

Socket A's never used mounting holes... they used clips. Just looking though the CPU Cooler section I can't see any Socket A compatable coolers anymore.

You'll have to look elsewhere.

some socket A's do use mounting holes, else why would zalman sell this:

The Zalman socket A parts kit is used to mount a Zalman CPU Cooler such as the CNPS 7000 series ZM-WB2 water block to an AMD motherboard with a socket 462(A) CPU mount. Four mounting holes around the CPU socket are required to use this kit. The brackets must be secured by screwing them in from the backside of the motherboard. Mounting bracket A (blue) screws into the left side and mounting bracket B (white) screws into the right side. With the brackets firmly in place a Zalman CNPS 7000 CPU cooler can then be mounted to the brackets. Use this kit to convert a CNPS 7000 to a CNPS 7000A version for AMD Athlon XP+ CPUs.
also the Zalman CNPS7000B-CU Socket 462(A)/478/754, etc all seem to need mounting holes!

after having a look around, i'v come down to these:

Zalman Flower CNPS6000B CU AMD CPU Cooler
Gigabyte G-Power Pro (GH-PDU21-SC)
GigaByte Rocket Cooler Pro (GH-PCU22-VG)
Thermalright SI-97A (can't find a review of this anywhere! - anyone have it?)

so guy's what do you think?? which one should i go for??

thanks.

I had the Gigabyte rocket cooler on my old 3200xp, it's variable from 2k to about 4k. Good cooler as i had mine up at 2.4 for ages. Quiet i wouldn't know about that as i ran it flat out. Seemed quiet enouth when i tweaked it down on the odd occasion i s'pose. Fitting is easy enouth but awkward as it's a big old beast.

ok kool, just had a look at some review for the zalman, and just realised it might not actually fit cus my PSU might get in the way!

i got a Thermaltake Armor case, loads of space in there (have packed 7 HD's so far) but i think that above the CPU aint one of them!! looks like i might go for the rocket...unless any1 knows of a review for Thermalright SI-97A so i know if to consider it, can't find anywhere so don't look good does it!
