So today I got myself a 6000+, to replace my 4600+
Model: ADX6000IAA6CZ
Stepping: CCB8F 0714UPMW
Immediately after I boot up, I open up the Nvidia monitor to find out how this thing was running.
To my surprise, I found that it was sitting on 21ºC!
that's cooler than my 4600+ ever got, even at stock speed. (with the water cooling system unchanged from the 4600+, apart from fresh AS5)
So I begin overclocking on my Foxconn C51XEM2AA (with Nforce 590 SLI chipset), and I've found some good results so far.
Right now, I'm running it at over 3.4GHZ, completely stable in prime95. Right out of the box.
I haven't started burning it in yet, and the AS5 is freshly applied, too.
I'm able to successfully run 3dmark06 with it over 3.5GHZ, and so far I've broken 10k coupled with my 8800 GTS 320MB (630 core, 920 mem, default settings)
I'm now going to burn-in this CPU, so I can hopefully get it prime95 stable over 3.5GHZ
