AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+ Black Edition 3.20GHz

i thought as much, there prob just cherry picked 6000 chips that can run that fast, much like the G0 chips intel brought out.

O well, Love AMD to bits but this look like the Athlon XP 3200+ all over again.

Waste of time and money.

Yup. I predict it will clock very little because it's already clocked right at the limit of the process. For that cost you might as well get an E21xx and a C2D motherboard and still have some cash left over.

i have just got one of these mint cpu's & i got it to 3.55 on air ;-) maybe more but i am a chicken...... .
so i backed off to 3.40 what is runnng nice & cool plus i have played stalker & other games for a few hours with no problems at all.

Still cant believe these are still on 90nm AMD have really matured it well. Lets hope 65nm and 45nm will be the same.

Some good X2 6000+'s get 3400-4000mhz , same as the 65nm X2 5600+, the Black Edition X2 6400+ just has a higher multi and the new Black Edition X2 5000+ has a unlocked multi

i have one of these mint cpus now running 3.37 all day long ;-)
also i got to 3.48 but i backed off as i am a chicken with overclocking a new cpu... .

To be fair if this chip was on 939 I would replace my 4400 any day. Be a good investment since I don't really overclock.

6000 for 90 new delivered isnt to be sniffed at and with new price cuts coming into effect as we speak they will be a bargin to none ocing peeps.

I'm tempted to get one with an ASRock AM2 expansion socket for my mobo (as its a great overclocker) but it only goes to 1.45v max.

Will 1.45v be sufficient to get the 6000 to 3.4GHz+?

Which is the best overclocking AM2 currently on the market?

Just found the Black Edition for £127 inc vat.

It runs at 1.35v stock so I might grab one and go clocking.

What stock voltage does the 6000 run at?
1.40v

i got it up to 3.45ghz at 1.44v, so it can easyly clock more higher...
