Hiya,

I'm one of the many plagued users of CoD: Ghosts and have subsequently been trying to fix the issues I've been having. My laptop specs are in the sig.
Currently, I have 2 restore points, one that plays cod via my processor without up to date AMD drivers but causes Everquest to crash completely randomly.
And another that plays Everquest as it should (Using driver 13.6 and utilizes my GPU) but doesn't play CoD well at all, as in it's like playing a game at 2-3 fps. (The new 3.3.3 patch has allowed the game to load properly every time on this restore point, but still no fix for the lag)

I've concluded that the issue is now obviously with my drivers. Herein lies the next issue. No matter HOW I try to install the 13.11 v8 or v9.2 drivers, they do not work on my laptop. Period. If I install the driver straight over the top of 13.6, it gets to the configuring display driver then goes blank and turns my main monitor off and the laptop screen does not come back on, thus requiring a force reboot. Once rebooted it is then running on no drivers and right clicking the desktop and going to the CCC doesn't work because apparently I have no drivers installed. I try running again and it flashes through the install and doesn't work.

If I install the driver AFTER removing ALL ATI software, it goes through the entire process (Note: Without any screen flashing, unlike when I've installed drivers on a desktop where it flashes) and takes a few minutes, prompts me for a reboot, then restarts exactly the same way as the other way of installing it where the CCC is there but no AMD graphics drivers are available.

Also, this might seem like a retarded idea but would it be worth trying the official 13.11 for desktops?

For the life of me I cannot figure out why on earth this driver set doesn't work but it's the same for 13.11 v8 and v9.2. Has anyone else had ANYTHING similar to this? Or got any ideas that I can try? It's literally driving me insane as I play both games a similar amount and would like the luxury (sigh) of being able to swap to the other game when I want without having to system restore!!! :(

Are you using Win 8.1? Ever since I upgraded to 8.1 AMD's switchable graphics drivers have been giving me a headache (13.9 is the most stable for me so far but not perfect, 13.11 v9.2 seems to make flash crash).

The desktop ones have no drivers for the mobility GPUs so that won't work.

Is there an option in the BIOS to change the GPU settings from dynamic to fixed mode? I hear that fixes a lot of things with switchable graphics. My laptop doesn't have the option... I wish I checked before hand :(.

Nah, w7 64 bit. Sorry I missed that part!

Err I have no idea, typically my SSD failed Thursday night so don't have laptop with me this weekend. I'll check when I'm back on base Sunday night and see how that effects things when I get the SSD sorted!
