Hi All,

Are AMD going to continue to support fully the R9 280X?, my card was only released in January this year!
To me it appears because of the re-brand (Tahiti XTL GPU - Southern Islands) which to be fair, are a few years old now, supporting GCN architecture 1.0. It appears most of the newly released drivers, especially betas are only supporting the Tonga Pro and Hawaii Pro and XT GPUs running GCN 1.2 and 1.1 respectively.
All recent AAA games released this year, I have had nothing but bother with Crossfire profiles for games. For instance it took AMD until the 14.9.2's to get a fix for the flickering on LOTR:S0M this was quite a few weeks after release.
COD:AW appears to be fixed crossfire wise, from what people are reporting on GCN 1.1 and 1.2, but I can tell you first hand it is still scaling negatively on me crossfire setup and will only run smoothly on a single GPU, with Crossfire disabled.
AAA future releases are beginning to worry me!, AC:U is running like s*it from what I have read, even with the betas! I have pre-ordered this!
GTA V, well!, we will have to wait and see!
If I install the latest beats, not only do the drivers see my cards as a HD 7970! but LOTR:SoM is broken again, constant flickering making the game un-playable!
This cements the fact to me that no effort for beta release drivers from AMD is going into properly supporting GCN 1.0 architecture, for crossfire anyway!
I understand this is not all AMD's fault and some responsibility has to go to the game developers, I feel, they could work more in tandem with the GPU designers to ensure a more hassle free release of new titles.
I have to admit, I fell a bit annoyed, that after only 10 months, and £512 lighter a the time, my video cards are not going to perform to their true potential, and look they could go legacy in the very near future, especially with the new generation of cards on the horizon!
I really did not plan in having to update my cards, after less than a year! I expect them to do me 2 years anyway!
I will be very interested on other peoples' thoughts on this matter.

Thanks Matt! I will install these then for Unity! SoM however is flickering badly, I have reported this through the driver bugs form! It was OK with the 14.9.2's.

Shadows especially, flickers when you come out of Wraith mode. Green line across screen and black flickering lines on cut scenes.
All OK with the 14.9.2's.
