AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Yeah I remember the rumour going around about LGA also Martini, surely it would make more sense to have brought it in with a new architecture rather than shifting after a few runs. Saying that it is the CPU biz and some things tend not to make sense some times.

oh yeah - im sorry - we've been ignoring all of that bulldozer info that is flooding in ;) :p

At least there is Llano info coming in! :p

Once the desktop ones are released this month hopefully we will get a better impression of the 32NM process AMD is using ATM.

I suspect that even an 8 core Bulldozer will be smaller than the 1.45 billion transistor Llano.

I can't see AMD getting the performance crown from Intel to be honest. Intel already have Ivy Bridge ready for next year.

All AMD can do is sell their parts at a cheaper price.

Dual,hex,octo, higher octo.
Then a refresh.
But the refresh was meant to be Q3 but BD got delayed till Q3.. So it's anyones guess.

no quads? do you think AMD will be doing the same as previous chips and having 'locked' core chips so that possible bargains can be had?
im guessing the only real need for the dual will be for media type pcs?
what is meant by higher octo?

Damn. I meant quad not dual =D
Higher octo as in, not one base model, 1100t/1090t etc.

And that's nothing to get upset about.

When Athlon was king weren't both AMD & Intel more expensive which would suggest that prices are cheaper in general when AMD is behind.

Nothing to get upset about at all. Intel are a huge massive company that will always blow their competitors out of the water.

Like i said: AMD will have to slash their prices to compete.
