AMD Bulldozer Finally!

We've not even got a release date to be delayed from yet so who knows. Just the ramblings of a CEO at computex who couldn't figure out which month he was in in the first place and a slightly slanty picture of a slide at the same show.

When they say releasing within 60-90 days... You're kind of going to go "Release date at present is in 60-90 days"
HardOP are doing a preview in two days.

Did you see the press conference in which this was said, the guy didn't even know the month he was in so was not holding much faith in him or the slide, plus saying something is out in 60-90 days isn't a release date its kind of an estimate (as the way this was said was BD should be being sold 1 month after 990 chipset boards went on sale so that info was naff too), nothing definite in that info I'm afraid.
And a preview event isnt a release date either, so theres no way of saying something is delayed from release date when you haven't even got one for it to be delayed from. Plus the question was has it been delayed not whats the release date, my point was theres no way of saying untill you take the maximum possible time that the ramblings suggested (which could have been taken 1 of 3 different ways) and its not shown up, then you can possibly say there was a delay.

The 990FX chipset was 0-30 days wasn't it, with llano being 30-60? I don't remember, but both are out retail now. No reason not to believe BD won't be, especially when there's a confirmed preview.

They said 0-30 days for Llano, guess what? Llano's out.

Is this a Llano thread, I dont quite get your point on why you pulled me up on my answer to the question then go off on a tangent about Llano? Guess what we had a definate release event date for Llano for at least 30 days before too? Anyone see the FX release event on their calendars yet?
No the person said that 990FX boards would appear in 0-30 days with BD appearing 0-30 days after that, it was a very brief passing sentence. The slide had slightly different timings again, thats why I said it could be taken 1 of 3 ways.

A tangent? They were from the same conference, there's no reason not to believe him when 2 out of the 3 are already out.

Yes a tangent as Llano has sod all to do with FX apart from taking up fabs and one of these products got a very brief mention at the others main conference.
Lol yes a product that had already got boxes and boxes of stock they got a release date right within a month. The computex event wasn't an FX event at all it was just a very brief passing over, and I mean that quick that if your stream lagged you would have missed it.
Your still missing my point, how can it be delayed if we haven't reached the 90 days (even though the way it was said should have been 60 days) and we have no release date that's passed, or no new info from AMD. Its impossible to say its been delayed until any of them happen.

I don't get your point, my point is, it's due in August, if it doesn't arrive then, it's "delayed" as such.

Well you dont get my point yet were saying the same things?? But you pulled me up on my answer just to infer the same point? But im not sure on the August month thats all, as my point was that AMD at that conference werent 100 percent sure of what month they were actually in.

The not knowing month is irrelevant, as we were given it in days.
So count the days from the event, anything past that is delayed, your point isn't really a point as such.

Read the above answer which I gave the 1 of 3 different ways we got a date for BD, watch the part again at computex and you may get what I mean.
And your point of pulling me up when I said we had no definite release date for it to be delayed from wasn't really a point either tbh. It could release tomorrow for all we know or at the very max limit of the 90 days inferred by the slide, neither would be a delay.

4120 & 6120 come later. Everything else in August, apparently :)

How is the arguing AMDs fault?

People are arguing about if something justifies being called a delay or not... :|
The comical disputes and strange behaviours in this thread can only be blamed on the posters themself. Or the internet, if we're looking for a scapegoat? :)

Because there's no product to discuss, we're left bickering about semantics.
AMD's fault :p

This, plus wasnt even an argument, it passes the time in a thread where nothing new has come out. Thank you for the time Martini :)
We we had two different opinions on what was inferred at the conference thats all and had an hour to waste so I'm probably to blame to wasting some of your internets sorry :)
And thanks Emlyn we can now start on discussing what is and what isnt a pointless discussion, so I'll free some time up in my diary.
