AMD Bulldozer Finally!

The only reason people are getting irate is because they are getting hyper excited at the smallest things, leading to immediate disappointment afterwards.
All these people should buy sandybridge setups and do themselves a favour.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world will have patience.

Don't worry there will be Geek Rage(tm) at the end of the day if every detail about the retail Bulldozer CPUs is not released!!

All objectivity will go south and endless Rage Whinging(tm) will start!! :p

:D

lol @ all these people hanging onto Bulldozer for dear life.

I hate to say it, but its got all the hallmarks of being a bit of a flop.

Its going to be the usual story, good, but not as good as the best Intels, so will have to be priced accordingly to sell. Just like every other AMD processor there has ever been.

Shame really, as they really have the enterprise market sorted with their high end Opterons.

Oh sorry i didn't know you worked for AMD and know the exact performance figures.

Thanks for making it obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about.

LOL. Dr. Pain are you still breathing?

Look if we are all honest...we want it to be great but everything is pointing towards a cpu that will compete with the original I7 cpus (920), anyone expecting anything different is deluded.

I will eat anyone's hat (unless it is a Stetson) if it beats the 2600K (it might have a chance in the small percentage of programs that are coded to take advantage of the higher number of cores) comprehensibly.

If AMD had an Intel killer we would have seen benchies already its as simple as that.

Well there is also an option that during development AMD decided to shift a goalpost and instead of getting something out that would compete with I7 (920) they raised the bar and want to compete with SB.
It can also be that this new architecture is quite complex to get the best out of and AMD really want to have this sorted and base there future developments around it.

In the end, whenever it is out, as long as it can compete with at least some inte CPUs we can hope for a bit of a price war.
There is even only a fraction of people who will consider the top end BD if it cost a fair bit of money, even if it can compete with 2600k.
Most of us will settle for 2500k equivalent.

October is BF3 and even more amazing games coming this fall, perhaps all this extra time is for AMD to make sure the BD is going to deliver more then ever, heres hoping:)

+1!!! - I can wait, cus at the moment theres not much that takes benefit of anything above and beyond what I already have ;)

Look, chances are that BD is going to deliver are slim, I will be very surprised if it tops Intel offering tbh.

Oh well, here's hoping that the 7k series graphics cards are good at least. :p TBH it's too late now for changes to bulldozer if it's going to be available in the next couple of months.
