AMD Bulldozer Finally!

That seems a little weird, E3 is mostly a gaming show rather than a hardware show, and June is a long way off was hoping to have a new system by then :(

Yeh I'm pretty disappointed with this as well. Was hoping for some official news from cebit.

Oh well - you wouldn't have been able to get stuff before launch either way ;)

I am not sure I believe the chipset problems story, seems a little far fetched.

Especially as chipsets do, well relatively little these days, and the source of "amd has issues" being Fud its about as believable as a dual gpu 480gtx is definately coming out from Fud :p

Considering we've basically seen that Bulldozer will work with 890fx/gx as long as the mobo is specced for am3+(I'm assuming other than the socket it probably needs to hit specific power specs), then I can't imagine much has changed. You can still screw up a new chipset, but for the purposes of showing off Bulldozer, in a closed box that no one can see the mobo even if there was an issue they could have just whacked it on a 890fx mobo.

AMD seem overly concerned with keeping the release quiet and leaks to a minimum and reporters have a habit of opening cases when no ones looking or opening cpu-z when they shouldn't, that kind of thing.

Anyway Fud was reporting it was a public showing at Cebit a month ago but other sites merely said bulldozer would be there, likely behind closed door meetings/showings.

Hopefully we should see somthing at CEBIT.... which is in a few days I think.

1-5th of March!

I'm sure JF-AMD said on another forum that Cebit was looked after by AMD europe and they would not be showing any products that had not been covered by AMD US.

I just hope they don't rush it. Would rather they waited and revealed a proper contender for Intel.

True..... but if they take too long about it intel will be close to releasing ivy bridge which will probably take bulldozer back to school.

Also I think AMD are already losing out because of their delays and lack of info. A lot of people were eagerly waiting solid news of bulldozer this quarter before making upgrade choices etc.

I must admit to being a bit of an AMD fanboi, but due to the total lack of any info I am a few clicks away from going down the SB route and I am sure there are many others out there like me

I have to agree, I've had a 2500K/570 GTX, build in my OC basket for a few weeks now, but having had a bit of a soft spot for AMD, I haven't gone to checkout yet..

The Bulldozer launch has always been Q2 2011 so this has not changed. However,it would be nice if they actually released some more info about it or at least get the AM3+ motherboards launched.
]

yes this at least. if AMD released AM3+ motherboards now ahead of bulldozer release I would happily pay to get an AM3+ board and stick a 955 BE or a hex core in there untill the new CPU's were released. At this stage I see little to no benefit of going down the AM3 800 chipset path because that is a virtually deadline when bulldozers are released as from what I am reading the new cpus won't fit into an AM3 board unless they have changed that recently

Come 21st of this month I will have ~£400 sitting in my bank account DEDICATED to a new PC (already have DDR3 for it) ... now the question is, what will I buy and when :(

No info is being released about Bulldozer at Cebit. Mishima (Vortez) is at Cebit and had some time to chat with someone from AMD but nothing new was revealed apart from that it should be released around Computex time. Neither ASUS nor MSI had motherboards to show.

great all that fuss and no bulldozer samples ,false hype

Sampling on BD started in Q4 of last year.

Ive read that AMD had the problem with the chips hence no demo fore CEBIT. This doesn't influence the release date which will be on E3!

I have also read that BD would be 50% faster than SB, so you can either believe all of the rumors or none of the rumors, take your pick. But you can't pick and choose which to believe.
