AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Well Martini, going off the slide at Computex and the slide only being as you say Rick Bergman was irrelevant there, it basically states that in 60-90 days they will "Schedule Zambezi to be available in Late Summer"
Ergo, they may well have scheduled between themselves that it will release on the last day of summer and not told anyone, so they may well be running in front on time etc. So as long as someone marked it on a calendar at AMD within 60-90 days of that presentation they made their timeline :p
No where on that slide does it say they will release it, just schedule it :) Being as the guy talking is irrelevant as you put it.

I get what you're saying, and that's a VERY weird way of interpreting it.

Scheduled for late summer would fall within 60-90 days from the slide, but on the flip side, could mean what you say.

And I meant irrelevant in that, anyone could have presented the slide, him not knowing the date etc is frugal.

Oh yeah it is a weird way of interpreting it, I in honesty interpret it like you but, it doesnt say released or available for the Zambezi chips, unlike the chipset and motherboards.
Just getting at a point that the slide could be interpreted differently without Rick Bergman speaking (In which if I remember right as cant find the vid at the second said available not scheduled).

One slide, is that all there is, I'm not knocking it, but, that one slide can be mean anything. Was there not a more clear-cut announcement anywhere?

Thanks for posting that slide Martini.

With all this delay, I am seriously thinking of sitting out this CPU upgrade for now in favour of stepping into the world of SSD 256GB, then see how things look in 6 months’ time, is this good idea?

Because if you don't convince yourself of a release date, you can't complain how crap AMD are when they don't have to delay........

People in this thread have convinced themselves basically since march of almost a release date every single month, then acting like its delayed, its a bit mental. Sept 19th is a completely made up date, from one date in a freaking AMD comic thing they do, which could have been for anything, and somehow its now official.

Mental? is it not beyond that?... looks a bit like a shuttle is leaving and if some don't have a Sandy Bridge or Bulldozer they aren't allowed onboard and no docking ever again. Or is there some secret limited edition going on here?

There will be faster chips than these in due time. Always is. Enthusiasts know this.

Thats also the thing that confuses me reading some on this board. One minute it's an enthusiast forum. Next it's a budget forum where too many get screamed at, you don't need the latest. Next you need the latest or you wont be part of the club.

I'd like to know which one it is.

I'd like to know which one it is.

Its a computer forum. All types of advice and posting is allowed, and thats what we get. Different advice from different people! I know...shocking right?

We have overclockers here, we have undervolters here. We have people who do neither and just game.

Stop being so serious and trying to put a label on a specific type of userbase.

Only time advice is ridiculed, is when its plain wrong. And that happens now and again.

Like advising someone a processor that doesnt perform aswell as another processor in the same price range, just because its AMD/Intel (depending on what fanboy is posting)

Anyways, This is off topic.

Have they even stated a release date ? or rough time ? like saying its in September? Or this year/next year? or is it all just rumours cause Jimmy McTavish told Isa he thought it was the 26th??

I'm starting a build in a few weeks anyway so I wouldn't mind seeing Intel hack prices or there being a budget Bulldozer that trumps its Sandybrige equivalent. (Doubt it.)

I'll have the money to build my new pc at the end of September, so hope bulldozer is released by then. I've read many articles and most of them seem to indicate mid to late September for release, so fingers crossed.

I've a feeling that intel will be on its ivybridge/22nm chips before AMD release BD ;)

Seriously, AMD need a better marketing department, people are just getting fustrated, not a good way to treat potential customers in a market dominated by Intel, dangle the carrot a little atleast, even if these are not as quick as the latest intel chips, people will still buy AMD if they prefer their chips over intel, just dont keep people in the dark as they will eventually get fed up and move towards the light!

well you can count me in the frustrated camp

with all this secrecy the CPU range had better be absolutely amazing - otherwise it'll all be a bit of a joke

I think they did all right consider they have nothing to work with. It's the production / engineering that's a bit of a let down. Those chips should have been ready to market months ago.

full availability even later ? (found link off another forum) - but again all rumours of course

http://wccftech.com/amd-fx-bulldozer-chips-start-shipping-week/

tbh - I can appreciate why AMD are keeping everything to their chest -but I'm sort of fed up with it all now

I'm now thinking Z68 +Sandy - with processor upgrade to Ivy next year seems better option for me

Why can you appreciate why AMD are keping things close to their chest?
I do not understand why the can't let the public know when new hardware will be available.
