AMD Bulldozer Finally!

By the time bulldozer comes out the 6 core sandybridge will be close and the ivybridge will be nearly here. You would think AMD would release this sooner rather than later otherwise intel will have caught up before the BD is even released. Can't understand why there has been no performance info released by AMD, all the info I have found states the chip used is based on bulldozer archetecture. Weird way to promote new tech.

It's a good point. All AMD had to do at/prior to sandybridge launch was show bulldozer to the world and how great it was, and watch an army of people disregard sandybridge as a result and wait for a few months to get bulldozer.

I would not assume Intel need to catch up with bulldozer either.

But it does not say that, does it?

Has anyone verified that those are actual AMD production boxes?

Unless there were channels full of OEM products and saying too much about a new product would muck up the supply chain for partners (who would ultimately come back to AMD to cover their loss from stalled sales...)

Why do you think that Intel did not release official pricing, specs, speeds, pricing and SKUs until the launch of SB? Because they had the same problem. This is an issue in the technology business for the 20 years that I have been in it, don't expect it to change now.

I totally understand.

The problem is most users cant see it from the OEM side of the picture because they have never been one with now dead stock in the supply change as no one wants to buy any AM3 motherboards or systems because they know the existence of something else on the horizon.

It would have been even better to keep the whole thing secret out side of OEMs & partners & then give out world wide info when its soon to be on the shelve but that just doesn't happen.

That would be so easy to do. All we would have to do is keep people on the internet from speculating and posting in forums ;)

If you look closely, you'll see that the only content about bulldozer that is from AMD is really coming from my blogs. Outside of that, almost all of the other content is rumor and speculation
