AMD Bulldozer Finally!

AMD make the better graphics cards at the moment mate hence why.

I LOL'd at Nvidia's excuse for SLI being only on Intel systems in that blog though :) - Got nothing to do with the fact their ship is sinking lol

I really hate the way nvdia conduct business and don't on the whole like them as a company but I do prefer the cards they make to ATI/AMD.

Not had an amd cpu since the socket 939 days as they just have not be able to compete with intel in performance if you want a top end cpu, maybe this will change with bulldozer.

Do we actually have any solid information about Bulldozer? I can't find anything in google, or much in this thread (although to be perfectly honest with you i haven't really tried at either for more than a couple of minutes and i'm just lazy) :D

Seriously can this thread get a name change to "aimless fanboizms, flame and useless info"

I want an AMD rig again, don't really know why .. just kinda do :p

It's nice buying something cheap and making it uber powerful. Sadly you cant really make it uber powerful any more compared to intels as they just overclock even further and are even more uber powerful to start with. Hopefully it will change soon but it's been like this now for so long I'm not so sure any more :(.

Having a bit of an "uber" day atm it seems.

Since when has "25 day countdown" meant 4-5 months (if they do appear in June)? I've seen nothing about Bulldozer yet, and can't find anything.

Was a 25 day countdown to Cebit (where it was meant to make some form of appearance) Its in the very first post if you read it. Title is a bit iffy now though lol.

not enough info from amd... startin to **** me off really... i want bulldozxer to be better than sandybridge but i know it wont.... however they will hopefully be cheaper than sandybridge and still give some good solid performance..

i'm tired of waiting too but i think i'm going to wait longer even if bulldozer is worth buying because i dont like the current AM3+ motherboards they seem featureless compared to intel MB's.

What do you do with your computer? If you use it for gaming then no... but if you use lots of CPU intensive programs then yes.

i use mine mainly for gaming so you saying BD is not the right cpu for me ? should i just go for something like i5 2500k instead ?

My advice was to trigger-happy, as he had a Phenom II... I'm not sure in your case, try monitoring your CPU usage while gaming because if you aren't using your CPU 100% then you would see little, if any benifit upgrading.

EDIT: There isn't anything wrong with using BD for gaming (or so we assume) it's just that if you already have a decent CPU there's no point in upgrading.

thanks for the reply,my Q6600 oc @ 3.6 & on some cpu intensive games all 4 cores can reach between 80 to 90% i would really like to know from people who have i5 2500k overclocked @ 4.0+ what their cpu usage in games like shift 2,bfbc2,gta 4 at 1920x1080 with full settings. if the usage is 50 to 60% max then i will upgrade to i5 2500k.

My CPU usage on crysis 2 @ 1920x1080 with everything max is around 65% I believe (I may be wrong), I'm running an i5 2500k @ 4.5GHZ... At 80-90% I would wait a couple of months until you full max out your CPU and also the prices will have came down by then.
