AMD Bulldozer Finally!

hmmm is anyone here actually going to go out and buy one of these on the day? :P

YUP! :)

found this aswell, despite rumours (no proof for them though of it being delayed till august) looks like Beginning of June for paper launch at least. Prob end of june before we actually get to see them in shops

no hotlinking

So what exactly is the difference between the FX-8130P and the FX-8110? Can't surely just be a higher clock speed, why would that require a "P" and a higher TDP? Maybe "P" means an unlocked multiplier?

All speculation, but it looks like the new AMD chips will mimic Intel price-wise: http://wccftech.com/2011/05/20/amd-bulldozer-llano-fusion-pricing-information-leaked/

which is acceptable as they pip the i7 2600k. Nothing short of impressive: http://wccftech.com/2011/05/21/amd-...e-exposed-beats-i7-2600k-cinebench-benchmark/

(Apologies if already posted).

Thank god for that. I just want to see how far it overclocks. If an overclocked BD can complete with my system I'll upgrade.

i think all the current AM3+ motherboards suck badly compared to sandybridge ones.will there be any new AM3+ motherboards released before or soon after bulldozer's release ?

AM3+

SandyBridge

how do they suck, they do their job what more can you ask of them? :D

i think he means they arent as fancy looking

I kinda wish all AM3+ boards would be limited to the 9xx chipset, no reason to be using old ones IMO. (unless for cheaper prices/clear out stock?)

I think if the performance is there from the BD chips then motherboard manufacturers will invest in higher end models.

790FX wasn't AM3 exclusive.

They already have? Asus Crosshair IV isn't exactly cheap, nor is the UD7 etc.

Problem with that benchmark is that there is no indication of what the CPU is running at and how many cores.

Just for comparison my 1090T @ 4Ghz hits 7.14 - @ 4.2 it hits 7.32....... I wasn't overly impressed but realised my CPU is overclocked so when these babies get overclocked it will be even higher!! :D

All the Zambezis launched next month will have an unlocked multiplier, regardless of whether 4 core, 6 core or either of the 8 cores. It'll just have a higher stock clock and turbo, most likely. Could also be a higher bin, though I suspect it'll be identical.

May well be that like the Thubans, the best overclocker is the one with the lower wattage. I.E. 95W version of the 1055T, despite not even having an unlocked multiplier, frequently had consistently the highest clocks (at lowest voltages).
