I'm setting myself a ceiling of £200 max. If the bulldozers are over that and turn out to be only marginally better than sandybridge or about the same, I'll probably just go for a 2500k.

Pretty sure even the FX-8110 (incorrectly labelled as FX-8130 in that table by the looks of it) will be that much.

According to AMD the highest end mobile Llano at launch has around the same 3DMark Vantage score as an HD5650M:

Considering the TDP of the package is less than a mobile Phenom II X3,HD5650M and a dedicated northbridge this will mean the Llano laptops will probably consume less much power.

Not really, their server offerings use Bulldozer modules in just the same way that Intel's server offerings use HyperThreading.

No, that is not right.

HT tries to execute 2 threads on a single core.

We are running 2 threads on 2 cores.

In gpu bound games, having a faster processor, faster ram and an ssd as the base, the 5870 will not perform any better?

I'm sure you'll get boosts, but the major boosts will come - as you'd expect - in CPU bound games.

A simpler way of looking at it would be that buying a new top-end 6xxx or 7xxx or 5xx graphics card would gain you far less when paired with your current system than when paired with what will potentially be your new system.

SSD won't do much besides massively reducing load times. Doubt if it'll improve frame rates.
