AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Surely they are using the server chips and not the same Zambezi which us consumers are interested in?

Considering that they are very similar then you would expect problems with both desktop and server chips. Hitting the clockspeeds at a given TDP is also important for supercomputers and servers given how many CPUs they use. If BD is so poor then Cray would have used Magny Cours still.

What I find really interesting is that the leaked info seems to follow perfectly after Intel said it was delaying its 22NM processors. Now everyone will forget about the delays at Intel.

Anyway,in the next few weeks we will find out whether these unnamed sources are true. They could be but it would be funny if AMD pulled a fast one like they did with the HD5000 and HD6000 series. Hardly anyone had a clue about them before they launched.

Another thing. Most of the BD processors are 95W it seems. If BD has issues they could have launched it at 125W and 140W so they could hit higher clockspeeds.

The Phenom and Phenom II processors launched at 125W and had 140W higher clocked versions.

In fact the only leak we have seen which seems to be real was a B0 three module engineering sample a while back. So if all these B1 samples were available perhaps we should have some leaked benchmarks of these too??

Hmm why would they start releasing the mobo if there wasnt a cpu coming soon to power it?

Backwards compatible with AM3, but its just a case of waiting for official news to be honest at the mo as I'm not getting the board first with no sign of the chip, as am not taking a definite leap to one platform or the other yet.

Hmm, most of those links don't work or have been taken down.

Would be nice to see a comparison between the Crosshair IV and the Crosshair V aswell just to see the differance between the 2 chipsets under benchmark conditions.

Mobo's whilst nice are not enough for people like me who would have to change platform i guess if you already have an am3 cpu these could be good. Would have thought somethng about the cpu's would have come out by now except rumours though the longer those rumours are allowed to persist without a response in a way adds weight to them.

Come on AMD give those of us waiting somethng to keep the faith :).

Seems like we'll finally get some info tomorrow. Asus are holding an event with AMD where they'll "showcase Bulldozer performance" .... on Sabertooth / Crosshair mobo, of course.

So basically we have three launch dates now:
1.)July
2.)August
3.)September

On top of this some sources are only talking about B0 silicon, others about B0 and B1 silicon and others about B2 silicon.

So this can be one of five things:
1.)Bulldozer is delayed
2.)Bulldozer is not delayed as all the slides regarding the launch dates were fake
3.)AMD is spreading disinformation. You can see this with their graphics cards before launch
4.)Intel is spreading disinformation to deflect attention from its delay of Ivy Bridge
5.)Journalists making up crap to get more hits for their websites
