I've been looking for a reasonable priced bundle to build an HTPC on the OCUK site. Any recommendations on what to go for - it won't be used to play games.

Thanks

You'll need to give more info on what you have in mind if you want some replies.
Are you just looking for a mobo/cpu/ram bundle or do you need the works?

For example do you already have a case in mind? Some HTPCs will only take MATX mobos and psus. There is the low profile side of things to consider as well.

There is also a very large difference with people on here as to what they would call a reasonable price. Give us more of an idea of your budget.

Hope that helps a little.

Well i'm about to have the following:

MSI K8NGM2-FID
2 * 512 twinmos pc3200 ram
dvd rom
enermax 431watt psu
athlon 64 3000
seagate 7200.10 320gb hdd

in additional going to get the mce remote control

and then LCD sometime july / august

and then upgrade CPU if necessary at a later date.

my htpc consists of -

pIII 866Mhz, 512mb Ram, 6200 agp with tv-out, sata controller card powering 2 x 7200.7's 80gbs (need's replacing for something bigger), two 100mb NICs, load balanced) running server 2003.

The box is used for Itunes, Napster, Divx and file storage. It's plenty fast enough for all those tasks. Thanks to the low powered kit, I can run the box nearly silently.

Just looking for a mobo/cpu/ram bundle in ATX form. Looking to spend about £200 on this lot.

Like I said I won't be playing games but will be playing back HD movies so it's got to cope with that.

RAM 1GB- £50
Mobo with 6150 onboard- £50
AMD Athlon £100. (get fastest if possible within budget, you will need it for scaling)
MATX or ATX?

ie Asus CSM MATX, 1GB Corsair, 3700+ OEM, Zalman 7000. Slightly over, but decent spec fast HTPC with a silent cooler.
