Can someone napkin math the above IPC claims please given we think we know the size of the Vega Chip?

Problem is you can't really extrapolate other architectures to usefully guess at the kind of ingame performance offered - there are a lot of changes to how things work (moving setup functionality to the shaders, etc.) that might have zero performance gains at all or could be huge depending on how well AMD have executed on them.

I'd say the 1070's decent (Would be better if the currency conversion isn't what it is) but I have no desire to buy Nvidia.

Well, i am pretty soon..... tired of waiting on AMD.

True but if there is a claim that its a flat 2.75 increase in IPC, we should atleast napkin math it to see what that would equal, purely for fun if need be

Its looking pretty certain now that AMD just trolled Intel with a 60%+ IPC uplift on their CPU's so right now i'm open to all possibilities, no mater how outrageous it sounds.
