I am looking for the right graphics card for this setup, I am looking to use it for video and graphics rendering in OSX, but I also want to be able to game the latest titles in bootcamp on windows.

Mac specs are:
2019 - i9 MacBook Pro 15
32Gb ram
1TB HHD
Pro Vega 20 GPU

I have an external 1080p 144Hz monitor, but I will probably upgrade to 1440p if there is a benefit.

I have heard good things about the RX5600 XT and its a great price, but I can up the budget by double if I am able to use the power if its not limited by the Thunderbolt Port.

The games I will be playing are the new MW and generally some of the latest releases.

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

As far as I know the Thunderbolt interface batters GPU performance because it's only 4 PCIe lanes; GPUs don't saturate the 16 lanes given to it, but only 4 does hinder them a lot. You probably won't even get full potential out of the 5600 XT, and anything chunkier would just be a waste.

I'm happily running a 3440x1440 ultrawide via TB3 and my Razer Core X with my 2018 i7 Mac Mini using a Vega 56. The 5700XT would be the best option but check some of the eGPU forums if you are intending to use Catalina (I am still on Mojave).
