AMD Catalyst 11.8 WHQL

You playing the online when it freezes ? Also you using crossfire ?


I'm not having any problems with it with 11.8 and 11.7 cap3 profiles. Played for hours other day .. Will try again this weekend and see if anything crops up.

Wonder whats tripping it for some... AMD do make a note in their notes there is some issues with 11.8 and BF..

On-line yes, crossfire No.

PB is up to date (I update it manually)
 
I played BC2 last night for a couple of hours , no issues with these drivers (so far)
 
With these in WOT the artillery green line for shell trajectory flashes grey a lot (which means out of range)

Back to 11.7 or me
 
Installed 11.8 earlier, Football Manager 2011 is unplayable. I play it in windowed mode and the window is constantly shaking when moving the mouse around, revert back to 11.7 and its fine.

Something is not right with those drivers.

Running a single 5770, one monitor, no OC.

Seemed like the window was trying to resize itself then reverting back to its original size. Was weird indeed. All is fine now, gone back to 11.7
 
BC2 always hangs briefly or CTDs or white-screen freezes for me. Not often bet enough to have annoyed me since 11.4s.
 
11.8 with 11.7 cap3 and been on BFBC2 for about 4 hours and all is good and i do like the new Xfire logo ;)
Also I seem to be better average FPS seems much smother allot smother :)

Very happy with these so far.
 
Brink is finally running smooth in xfire but I'm now getting really bad frame drop in Cod BO when I'm anywhere near an explosion & it drops to 1-2fps when I'm near a gas grenade :/

why in gods name cant amd release a driver that works 100%
its **** like this that makes me want to go back to nvidia

Because there is no such thing.

Look in the latest nvidia thread & forums there is always someone/people that will have an issue.

Gfx drivers for gaming is an additive process & will always be playing catch up because gaming development never stand still in how its coded & will break driver compatibility.

do the new releases of the cap have all the updates from the previous releases as well or do you have to search around and install the one for the game/s you're playing at that moment?
