AMD Catalyst™ 14.6 Beta

Do we know if Mantle support for HD 7xxx series cards is improved in this beta release?. Nothing in release notes, but here's hoping

14.6 was more of a midpoint driver for the release of Watch_Dogs than a full fledged release with feature updates. I might be wrong but i don't think they updated the suppose for the HD 7xxx series, I doubt they will either because there's no money in doing backwards support if they have new cards to sell.

Sadly, I agree. They could at least make Mantle 'compatible', even if we 'old card users' didn't get the full new tech advantages, just playing without crashing on Mantle would be a start

Just stick to DX, i'm switching to nvidia for my next card because i dont play as many of the top AAA games which AMD very clearly target and seem to forget about smaller company's.

im running mantle on BF4 on the rig in sig. Currently using 14.6 beta. Working flawlessly for me. Was the same with the 14.3 v1 beta also

7850 here, and no matter what version I use, Mantle crashes. Might be after 5m or 2 hours, but BF4.exe has stopped working etc etc.

Try repairing the game first, if that doesn't work do a clean install of your graphic drivers, might be a few things left over from a previous install.

BF4/Mantle runs great with my 7970's fwiw.

Yeah done all that unfortunately, even had 14.x drivers stop my system booting into windows, required a full rebuild (true story - nothing worked, restore, rebuild etc). I'll stick with DX, but might give Mantle another try with the latest, but as there is no real change, its not looking good for us paupers
