AMD Catalyst™ Application Profiles 12.8 CAP 2

I run a Dell 30" 3008 so when I play MMO games I run it windowed so I can have stuff like IM's open, web browsers etc.. It's good for ingame downtime where you can do something else but still keep an eye on the chatlog.

It's not the end of the world. The cards run great in full screen mode, I'll give it a few days, see how I get on with it.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a second monitor to run all that stuff on than send them back and buy to 670s :p.

Not exactly what you're looking for exactly I know but a consideration nonetheless.

It might have changed but i think sli in this game is giving negative scaling so you are probably still getting one of the fastest experiences in windowed mode atm. I think theres a few nvidia guys on here that play and have sli who can say for sure.

Guild Wars 2? No negative scaling for me having tried it.

It's not luck of the draw lol. It would be if they all had the same set-up's and some did/some didn't.

The CPU makes a large difference. I would imagine that people seeing negative scaling are either:

a) using old drivers
b) CPU is limiting
c) an unknown problem with their set-up

Or finally,

d) dodgy drivers.

Not to say that nVidia can't make it better but I would imagine it will be improvements rather than an overhaul now.

In that thread not everyone has even said what drivers they're using, what CPU they're using or anything else so it's difficult to draw any kind of conclusion.

Scaling was OK on my SLI480's, not brilliant, but something.

Is there a reason crossfirex will not work in window mode. Window mode is a big thing for games like mmo's. Its stupid of them not to make this happen as not everyone has multiple monitors. Thats a definate one up for nvidia if i ever take the multi gpu route especially if i was still playing eve on 4 accounts.

In regards to EVE online if you know what your doing you can assign each client to a different screens as most know but if you turn CF off and have a screen plugged into the secondary card each client will use the resources of each GPU separately so you get the full benefit of each card.

Has this profile broken Darksiders II for anyone?

I'm on catalyst 12.8 and Darksiders II latest patch, with this CAP I get flickering images and texture corruption. I have to modify the game's profile to "Optimize 1x1" crossfire, this solves the issue but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on anything from the new, proper, profile.

7970 crossfire btw (both flashed to Ghz edition)
