Hi.
Im fed up of my room being like a sauna, so in an effort to cool the room, ive decided to enable C&Q.

So i enabled it in the BIOS, installed the AMD CPU Driver, but it doesnt work? The only way i can get it to work is the with AMD Power Monitor.

Is there not a way to get it too auto clock, like what my laptop does?
Or a way to lock it to certain CPU speeds with a program?

Thanks in advance all. :)

Hi

you need set power managment on minimal settings too

Start > control panel > display > screen saver tab > monitor power ... choose the minimal power scheme from drop down options

hope thats it ..

happy computing

Thats better.
Thanks.
Odd though, that even when its clocked back to 1Ghz that the CPU temps arnt dropping.
Still though, 32*c isnt too shabby i suppose. :p

Strange. It doesnt appear to be clocking as well as it should, im occasionally getting stutters in my music. Granted, ive got a lot of stuff open, but it shouldnt do that, should it?

i could be wrong but i think you will find C & Q does not mix with overclocking very well .. you have to do one or other but not both ... as a non overclock stock speeds person i run C & Q trouble free

C&Q does work when overclocking but only as far as your cpu default cpu voltage goes. with c&q what ever vcore thatis set in bios is totaly disregarded. Atm i can happily clock to 2.4g with c&q but will have to dissable tog o higher as i need the extra vcore.

For a bit more flexibility with overclocking you can use RMClock instead of the AMD CnQ. It allows for more control of vcore so you can overclock further and still have power saving.

Hmm.
Im not gonna lose too much sleep.
If the X2's are dropped in price like they are expected to once Conroe is out in a few days, im gonna be getting a X2 3800 anyway! :p
