AMD CPU OVERHEATING (new heatsink)

I just got myself a new heatsink for my AMD FX 6200, at 0% its running at 30c but when i use atleast 20% of the CPU within 2mins its at 90c then my computer shuts down obviously. the new heatsink i replaced it with is Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2. While i was replacing my heatsink, i did bend two or three pins on my cpu, but i straightened them out, could this have made my CPU unstable? should i replace my cpu? or should i change my thermal compound? :confused: (i always made sure that the heatsink isn't near the memory)

My computer build is:
Be Quiet! Dark Pro 550
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
AMD FX 6200 (not overclocked at all)
XFX AMD HD7870 2gb
8GB of kingston 1600 memory
 
yeah according to speedfan its running at 900rpm then on 20%+ load its at 1500rpm, also I've made sure its mounted properly. =/
 
sure its not from the pins being bent at all? i did straighten them, but couldn't it have done damage already which could make it really unstable?
 
Shouldn't be a problem with the pins. Did you apply fresh thermal compound when you replaced the heatsink?

Might be an idea to take the cooler back off and see how the contact with the compound looks.
 
yeah i put arctic silver 5 thermal compound, i opened it up again and took off the heatsink it was sitting right on the middle of my processor aswell and the compound looks pretty well spread
 
i was getting 50 max and 25 idle with my old heatsink but it was really noisy also the fan was about to go on it too. the mx2 and plastic was removed yes
 
When I did computer maintenance back in college I had a cpu that would constantly overheat no matter what heatsink I put on it / thermal paste and the temperature would just climb and climb and climb while I was in BIOS and it would never stop. I flagged it up saying look this CPU is borked it's just generating heat, getting hotter and hotter and hotter. Finally the lab technician gave in after giving me the "your not doing it right" giving me a new cpu which worked perfectly fine no abnormal temps.

In regards to troubleshooting you can only try replacing with your original heatsink or testing your current heatsink with another cpu.

yeah i guess. i'm thinking about just getting rid of it tbh and just going intel. i think my cpu is ****ed, because when i bent the pins i think one or two might have been bent way too much, either just get a 8core or go intel.
 
tbh i dont even think it gives enough time to head up the heatsink... because it jumps to 90c within 30/40 seconds within 20% load or more. =/
