AMD Curve Optimiser - Won't save in BIOS

I'm trying to add an undervolt using Curve Optimiser, but whenever I set something in BIOS (eg set it to negative 5), when I save & quit BIOS it tells me that I've not made any changes to the BIOS.

And then when I boot, it seems to have had no effect. I've tried - 5, 10, 15 and now just for fun -50, but CPU voltage hasnt changed and my computer is stable.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Cheers.

It doesn't show as saving in my msi board although it does apply as the voltage is lower when running cinebench.

Mike,
we'll need to know
motherboard make and model
operating system ie windows 10 64x
cpu model
MSI X570 Tomahawk, 5800x and Windows 10 64; thanks

interesting, I’ll double check. Is that just by checking max during the run or eyeballing an average?

So, in my experience on the Tomahawk with the latest 1.1.9 BIOS, the AMD Overclocking screen under "Settings" does nothing.

There's a slightly different AMD Overclocking screen under "OC" that works great.

Oh yeah, hadn’t seen that. There’s no curve optimiser in that section though.

Yeah just look at the CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN) in hwinfo while running R20.
ok thanks, mine doesn’t seem to change at all.

Ive run it since the day I got the board. It’s been stable for me.

I had to upgrade to get my rams XMP profile stable.

So good news: The BIOS update worked and now at least saves curve optimiser changes
Bad news: The changes still don't seem to have any effect. I've tried 0 through to -15, running Cinebench R20 and logging the core voltage from HWInfo and the core voltage basically doesnt change at all.

I'm not clued up enough about how the optimiser works, but that doesn't seem right to me?
