I have tried updating my driver to the latest 14.2 beta driver but everything installs fine apart from the display driver, that says 'failed' in the after report. I have gone in to device manager and un installed my driver as it had an error message by it but now I can't reinstall it so I'm left with no graphics driver installed.

This is the error message I get..

I have tried ccleaner and driver sweeper but nothing seems to be working.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Have you tried completely removing the original graphics driver? Using a prog like atiman to completely remove all parts of it. Sometimes Catalyst gets a bit flakey.

Then attempt to reinstall 14.2.

I've had this plenty of times.

Download & install Driver Fusion, boot into Safe Mode, Uninstall driver & run Driver Fusion.

Reboot & reinstall 14.2.

Completely remove the old driver with that AMD removal software (dunno what it's called, haven't used AMD for years!)
Restart PC
Install New Drivers
Restart PC
Done!

If this doesn't help, them remember to buy nvidia next time (Joke! :p )

older drivers install fine?
Remember 14.2 is a beta not a stable release - would be nice for it to work though. If you can't get it to install maybe try reporting it? Not investigated how to do this but there is bound to be a way :)

You will get this warning as uninstalling and cleaning still leaves other things not related to the drivers installed (.net framework or whatever). Catalyst will 'fail' when something is already installed, even though it still installs the drivers. Check the log, see what components are failing.

I have un installed everything though including going to device manager and un installing the driver that way, now I'm left with no driver and it still says 'failed' on the log after, everything else installs fine apart from the display driver.

Only thing I can think of is to try the other bios. All your other replies seem to rule out anything other than a hardware problem.

Have you upgraded the gpu recently? May be some hardware info left in the registry.

I'm stuck. maybe an issue with .net, or Visual C++. I've never had to deal with them before tho :( Perhaps a quick scan with windows update may show something??

So I did a system restore because CCC wouldn't load and messed my screen settings all up and now I'm back to square one, I keep getting the error message at the end of installing the driver. Can anyone help me? This is so frustrating.

Have you tryed re downloading the driver and trying just in case u have a corrupt file?

I've had this (without the CCC error), but it was on older BETA drivers.

I believe I was told "It works ok for me" a number of times.

I didn't actually manage to get around it a nice way. What I found did work was installing the latest WHQL drivers and then installing the BETAs over the top. Not ideal though.

I think for me the issue was that it wasn't prompting me to accept the certificate for the display driver. Because of this I guess it never installed it. I don't know if anyone know a way around this issue?
