Let me set the scene...

I had issues not long ago where my old old old SSD was causing system crashes and I eventually tracked it down and removed the bad SSD. Since then, my system has been running like a dream.

While I was trying to find the original problem I turned off crossfire and ran only one 290 - thinking one of the cards might of been the problem. Since that was months ago I had forgot to turn crossfire back on. So tonight I turned it back on and do some Arma3 - all good.

Now I've started getting system crashes (or at least I think it's a crash). Screen just goes black and I can't do anything, completely unresponsive.

I'm thinking it's way too much of a coincidence that a few hours prior I had turned crossfire back on. I've now turned crossfire off again and running the system as per normal to see if the problem stops.

I'm thinking the card must have issues - Just wanted to check there are no known issues with drivers that could cause this?

* I should add all crashes so far have just been browsing the web - not even in game.

Thanks

I'd recommend trying both cards on their own for a few days of solid gaming to see if the behaviour is replicated on a single gpu Mat.

***UPDATE***

It's been a night of yet more black screens..

I thought slot 2 with card 2 might be the problem as it was always when Crossfire was enabled that the issue occured. So I removed card 1 and juts ran card 2 until a crash happened. I then removed card 2 and placed in card one in the same slot. Unfortunately I then black screened again so now card 2 is in slot 1 and I'm maybe thinking towards the mobo being an issue?

God knows.. I don't know how to trace this now. Going to see how I get on with slot 1 being used again as previously running one card like this has been fine.

I've tried a complete reinstall of ALL drivers and that didn't help.

Ah bugger it - just got a crash on the top slot. I'm all outta ideas.

I just for kicks decided to try install the BETA drivers and I got a crash straight after restart once the installation was done. $^£^ETREGDFGDFT%EB%WEVEA^ $^

Mat i would recommend loading up afterburner and setting clocks of 1000/1250Mhz and saving it to profile 2. Then go to the profiles tab in afterburner settings and set the 2D/3D profiles to profile 2. This should auto load profile 2 every time your pc boots up.

Make sure you have afterburner auto starting upon boot.

Does this fix the problem?
