for the last month or 2 i keep getting an error and i have to reinstall the AMD drivers to fix it..
i get random black screens but only when watching videos online via chrome.
Every now and then i get a screen flash like when drivers are updating.

Error :

i do a full DDU driver reset and within a week this is back. any ideas?

Dont use DDU.

Download latest AMD Drivers, and tick the clean install option when installing.

Ive done that it didnt stop it, thats why i tried DDU too

Does your pc still "function" when the black screen arises? Like in the background?

I had a "grey screen" issue where once it went grey, music still playing, fans on pc etc. still running..

then after about 45 seconds the pc would crash and reboot itself..

no it completely locked up

When the error pops up, can you check device manager to see if it defaulted to the Microsoft basic adapter driver or an error on the AMD driver? If it does can you try Win + Ctrl + Shift + B which resets the graphics driver and hopefully quick fixes it?

the error pops up when i try to open the AMD software its still running on the GPU, i can game fine.
other night i was on squads for 3hr's with a buddy and it was fine, when i came off the little girl put youtube on and dead within 5mins

Is Windows updating the core driver, but not the software, automatically in the background? (or in some cases randomly installing an older version of its own accord).

Google foo, did come back with windows or OEM driver update thats not compatible with the adrenalin soft wear

Microsoft Windows Update installed a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) driver for your AMD Radeon™ Graphics product which is not compatible with the current installed version of AMD Software.

The URL in the message tells you what to do @Wing-Man . :)

but how do i fix it.

Serious?

It tells you. Using the linked MS article, do this:
  1. Press Windows + S keys together to open Search
  2. Now type Device installation settings
  3. Click on Change Device installation settings and then select the option No (your device might not work as expected)
  4. Now click on Save Changes
Then AMD says to reinstall their software / drivers afterwards.

Jobs a good 'un.

that turns off all windows driver updats, not just the broken one
