AMD drivers

i keep losing folding time with drivers crashing.. never had the problem with the gtx 450 and then my 650ti..
I get a pop up saying display driver stopped working but recovered ..my son has the same problem but more so..the card activity gous to 0% but in the f@h liant control will keep working until 99.99% and sit thier until a reboot and all will start where it stopped
I have latest drivers so what i am asking will the beta drivers be a fix

oh the crash is totally random make no difference if pc is only folding or am using it it my not happen or can happen 3 time a day and the card is a 7870 running at 42c

Are you running on full power for folding ? if so turn it down to Medium and see if that stops it.

yes all steam ahead full...if i set it to medium it will pause the gpu altogether but maybe their is a newer client as i have .off..idle light ..idle..light..medium ..full..if i remember my son only has off.. medium.. full

I have noticed the odd display driver lockup when running Trixx with Folding but I have dropped back to Medium and this seems to have resolved the display driver error as I have not had one since.

I am running version 7.4.4 but have only been doing this for less than a week so cant really give you much feedback.

i am on 7.3.6 my son is on the latest and he has same problems to....even when not folding but i fold 24/7 so dont know if it will crash any way

What AMD driver are on ?? I am on 14.4 as I don't like to use the beta versions, I am not having any issues with anything else ... Games etc are all fine.

I have found in the past when I have had the odd gpu issue and especially with the AMD drivers I find removing the driver and deleting the install folder and a cold boot before reinstalling the gpu driver fixes game and windows issues.

yes 14.4 rings a bell ..only install them last week..having googled it, it seams am not the only one

Yes I had a few issues with the 14.4 install but I never used to uninstall my old drivers so I did this time and touch wood it has been ok..

it may well have been sensible to uninstall and reinstall the 14.4 drivers ..but i think...what the hell and installed the beta drivers ...and so far no problems no crash

full steam ahead ..my temps stay very good with gpu at 98% ish at 41 to 43c and 22c ish at idle ..the card has 3 fans...i see your are catching me up fast

That is good news ... I am running on medium as I still have the odd driver not responding issue on full load

I will look out for 14.7 when it is released and hope this also resolves my issue as well..... fingers crossed
