Which is the most powerful ?

Which is the Most expensive ?

Which is the most efficient ?

i find AMD the best only because ive never had to replace a AMD pcu because of damage,

and AMD in my experience (V.small :p ) I find AMD the most efficient and cheapest...

Just want to find out other stories what other opinions are like

thanks

Which is the most powerful ? Core 2 Duo

Which is the Most expensive ? About the same, more speed per £ from a core 2 duo in most cases though.

Which is the most efficient ? Core 2 Duo

The Quad Core Q6700

Which is the Most expensive ?
The Quad Core Q6700

What do you mean by efficient? Power wise? Bang per buck ?

I've only ever replaced 1 CPU due to damage, AMD Thunderbird 900Mhz. Always thrown INtels away because of old age and no longer being useful. I still run a P3 933 Intel setup.

They always used to be. The bottom of the range Core2Duo chips (e4300/e6300/e6400) offer very good value for money these days, and eat most AMD chips.

Sorry if I sound like a bit of a Fanboi. I have a C2D e6700 and a AMD 64 x4400, and the Intel really is just incredible. I know thats kinda apples and pears but the huge gap is just incredible.

thanks

I think the FX 74 would be the most expensive really, you need 2 of them at £360ish each and only one motherboard works which costs around £250 I think.

Maybe, but they are not in circulation yet are they ?

the post powerfull is the core 2 duo
the most expensive is the q6700 (amds are pretty good for perfromance per pound)
the most effeicent are amds single cores only consuming 35w

so in real terms dosnt matter what you say its allways gonna be Core 2 duo over AMD Dual core, hmmm

i wasnt sure wether to go for a biggish 4600+ dual core or the E6600

sorry and i mean by powerfull, as in gaming and media purposes which runs and could cope the best in maximum performances

Core 2 Duo will be the fastest and overclock more, a 35w X2 would be best for a media centre though.
i have a 4200+ dual which im more thn likely going to sell, i dont know why i want the E6600, whats The differences between them in gaming..

If the graphics cards are maxxed out and the game is CPU limited, then yes. Otherwise no.

If you have a good graphics card and play with vsyn on like me you will not note the difference between a fast intel or amd cpu (my fraps almost never going below 60 Fraps with my opteron 170 at 2700Mhz and a 8800 GTS ;) )

1) that makes them quad core not dual core, so not the same to compare

2) you do not need 2 of them, it will run on one.

I do not know why AMD is not pushing this feature, of buy one dual core cpu now and add another later.

1) I was referring to jaykay who said the Q6700 was the most expensive, which is quad core.

That is all :p

my apologies....

Jaykay,,, OP is talking about Dual Core, not quad Core .. . l o l .. . :D

yer only DUAL CORES, quad are mega out of my budget :D :p , AMD are bringing out the quad core with the DDR3, and 22.3gb/per second transfer rates, unbelievable and pretty pointless i think

well it would be good for servers and games like supreme comander which run very well on quad core

but any how amds new dual cores are coming out in august/september which will be good to see
