AMD ECO MODE

Have not had an AMD CPU yet but I understand AMD introduced this feature (Eco Mode) with Ryzen 3000. I can't find information on how it works, only benchmark type reviews.


- I've read it can be set through software but what does this mean?

- Is there an AMD CPU utility that allows for this change to be made from the OS without having to go into the BIOS?

- Can the Eco Mode be changed conditionally such as when the PC is idle or based on a time of day setting or maybe through a PowerShell script?

- Does the PC have to be rebooted for a change to Eco Mode to take effect?

Great thanks, that appears to be it, at least for Windows, no such luck for Linux.

The only way to activate ECO mode under Linux for now is via the BIOS.
