AMD equivalent of i7 8700

yes i know have the option to return it.. i may do this

i dont want an AMD Card i have a Gsync Monitor.. the case isnt small. i have 2 x 140 fans front. 2x 120 fans bottom, 3x 120 fans top, and 1x 120 fan rear.

dont need to replace motherboard, just CPU its compatible with new chip.

sorry for blunt reply at work :) .. i will have a further think

I think i will return it and get the Palit Card or Inno3D they look the safest option

If you can't find a more suitable Nvidia GPU I'd sooner get a more accommodating case than a new CPU, its going to be a lot cheaper.

not really.. dual motherboard case. is nearly £200 plus a riser cable and you are at the same cost as a Ryzen CPU

There won't be a direct "as fast" cpu as the 8700k. I'm quite sure overclocked any 8/9Gen 'k' chip will beat any Ryzen chip at its price point in games.

The closest is the 3700X.

But seriously, I'd more tempted to just find a 2070 that worked.
yes going to change the GPU

What is the problem your having? I don't understand why the cpu is not compatible with the gpu??

I probably didn't word my post correctly.. I have a dual motherboard case. and the card I bought is to high to fit in the ITX section of the case. I have a ryzen board in the MATX section of case, and if it wasn't to expensive I would upgrade the CPU on that and change that to my gaming PC.. but as its stands, I would have to get a high end ryzen to achieve that.. so I will just take the simpler route of returning the MSI card and have to go for lower brand name like Palit or Inno3d as their cards are not wider than 2 slots and are not higher than the pci slots

here is a pic of the inside

That case is properly small with all that in it so I imagine it’s lovely and warm in there :D. If anything the CPU solution would be more like get a new bigger core count and stream/game on the same single board...

lol everyone has made an assumption im streaming.. im not.. I have a gaming PC with just games on , and one with Applications on , Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop etc.. also lets me browse the internet etc without minimizing my gaming PC.

So basically you should just plug the one PC in to two screens then? Madness to have an entirely separate PC to run some apps on so you don’t have to minimise the screen, multiple drives and two screens. Does everything above.

Seems quite bad planning to buy two of everything and cram it in vs one set of better gear but good luck with the new card.

I already have 2 screens , so i can use both pcs at the same time... and why is it bad planning to have one case instead of two? and to have 2 totally separate environments, one for gaming one for work type stuff. seems perfectly logical to me. its also useful for admining gaming servers on the fly.

New palit card installed fits perfectly and actually looks much better in reality than the images on ocuk
