AMD Eyefinity 3-panel Mixed Resolution review

I have been waiting for PLP support since they released Eyefinity.

Still they refuse to support it when its NOT HARD

Eyefinity uses SLS= Single Large Surface, so parts can not be rotated without dedicated hardware or software hack.

i dont use my 3 screens for Eyefinity, However it has fixed issues i had with so programs going over their screen boundaries in full screen mode so im happy :D

Does 2x1 work Ie one center monitor and one side monitor this would be brilliant for my little bro. I have two spare screens here odd sizes a 1080p and a 1200p screen. COuld i set this up on my spare pc next time hes here and He can use it to sim race with me.

At the mo I know I can do it with softTH or ingame .ini hacks but there a pain in the backside to work. Also what series of cards support this I have an old 5850 in the cupboard would that work ?

yes it should work (not sure on series) but i believe it would be anything that supports 14.6 drivers.

im using 1080p 2560x1080 then 1080p

Sorry Ive asked that incorrectly I have 2 spare screens so will that work. Or do I need to find another screen out for him so it adds up to 3.

i still play a lot of Falcon BMS, will this work with 1x 1440p in the middle, one 2560x1080 at the top, and one 1920x1080 at either side?

If so how would you connect em to 3x 290x's? (i iz noobz)

well when you play eyefinity, your eyes are focused on the centered screen, never the other 2, it's just pereferal vision, never had eyefinity so im just speculating, and with this mixe resolution thingy, i was wandering, if having 120hz center moinitor, with couple cheap 60hz monitor would work, or if all the monitors will run at 60hz ?

Although you center the attention on the middle screen most of the time, what's happening outside of that, it's still relevant. Don't forget that you look there just as casual as looking around in real life. Also, put your palms alongside the head, from ears onwards. Now remove them. Think a second how it will be to "see" at a lower frame rate that outer section compared to the middle. Imagine getting smooth 60fps with the main and 30fps on the sides (or 30fps with 15fps LOL). I could bet will annoy the hell out of you! :D

nVIDIA did that with surround in the past to save on frame rate, probabily someone who used it could shed some light on it or if it still uses it now.

On my setup, 3x1050p, I focus on the main + about almost half of the left and right side monitors. Halving or limiting the FPS on those ones is not an option. :)
