Tom at OC3D has reviewed the Acer XG270HU 1440 144Hz 1ms monitor and also given the AMD Freesync technology an explanation as to what it is!

Good review, and very informative.

To be honest, I had no idea what Freesync was before! It's something I'd avoided, as I'd assumed it was no different to Vsync!

Too painful to watch for me, though I did lol at the OP product placement.

Either way it would be a lot better if OcUK put information about the dynamic range of its Freeview monitors in their descriptions to allow their customers to make informed decisions on which monitor to buy and hopefully avoid returns from customers who haven't understood the limitations of Freeview with current monitor technology and are expecting too much from their current graphics card/new monitor combo.
