AMD fusion netbooks

(There entry level $399 X120e will have a single-core E-240 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and three-cell battery.

Dissapointing... :( Still wondering what HP will do with its dm1z.

And also wondering on how the new core i3 perform in terms of power usage. The new integrated Intel graphics is surprisingly good (on par with GT 310M).

I know :( $399 for that very basic spec.

If the X120e does make it to the UK I am guessing a half decent spec (dual core and 6 cell battery) will set you back what.. £500 perhaps? Seems like a realistic guess what do you think?

If it is correct then there is no way I will be purchasing.

I am going to wait it out and see what happens..

Can't really speculate until it's official. But the Thinkpad is traditionally targeted at business usage, so price hike is kinda expected. I do hope it stays with the Thinkpad tradition of reliability and toughness, and not just hype.

I think the marketing and CES reviewers got carried away with the price point, Lenovo reps didn't help by presenting their top-of-the line E350 and passing it as the $399 machine. TBH, would have been weird to see the x120e E350 version cheaper than the dm1z. Just there you know there's something not quite right. Would have been awesome on a epic scale of awesome, but...

******' marketing monkeys :/

I'm looking to pick up an 11 or 13" notebook when in the States in April. Hopefully there will be a large range out by then at the usual retail suspects. Just a shame Fusion battery life seems relatively limited. 8 hours or so of web browsing or 720p video playback would be ace!

whats the bet the lenovo x120e thinkpad is not released in the UK tomoz?

i tried having a sneaky peak around today and nothing...

bring on the morning...

They say its only going to be released in Western Europe, thats us out the equation...

I give up, sod them!!!

So can anyone recommend a dual core netbook?

Really disappointing that they're not coming out here. I don't like the design or glossy screen of the Edge 11 as much. Might pick one up in the States depending on exchange rate, though.

It can still be had via a forwarding company, which is probably what I'll do. I've found a couple that will do it for around £50... Am a sucker for Thinkpads :D

Spec I want is $509 direct from Lenovo
