I have a problem where when I start my system the multi is at x7 when I start LinX it jumps to x20 when LinX start to stress the cpu it drops to x15. I have gone into bios and turned everthing off that should control the multi but it still dose it. is there any other reason it may be happening othere than a bios setting.

It sounds normal to me x7 is the idle mode (Cool and Quiet), x20 the maximum speed offered by turbo boost when only a few cores are used, then you run Linx which loads all cores and so turbo boost lowers the clockspeed further.

Although, looking at OCUK specs the correct multipliers should be x7, x16.5 and x19.5 for a FX6100... do you have the latest bios for your motherboard?

I dont know its my bros system its about 3 weeks old.

the stock clock is 3300mhz boost is 3900mhz. when I run it under load it drops to 3000mhz. if I run LinX in singal thread it still dose it. some times it even hits 2700mhz

Could be some sort of throttling? What temps is it reaching? Is there maybe a power limiter somewhere in the BIOS?

it steps down befor it as time to heat up so its at about 37c. the voltage options in bios are just the normal +/- options

What motherboard does he have? I could have a look in the manual and see if there's anything that could be causing the throttling. Might need to look at it during the day time since it's quite late at the moment :p.
