As per the product description were guaranteeing FX-8150 speeds with no affect on warranty, this means you get FX-8150 performance for just the price of an FX-8120 with zero catches, well apart from the fact you need to adjust the multiplier and possibly voltage yourself. BUT this is guaranteed and your warranty of 3yr is un-affected with both OcUK and AMD. :)

Hey, got a few questions about this. How long is this offer going to be on for? What would the drawbacks be with using it in a regular AM3 motherboard, and an AM3 fitting CPU cooler will fit on an AM3+ motherboard, I assume?

Finally, how much of an upgrade would it be over a 1055T? I'm currently overclocked to 3.5Ghz which is nice, but there's a couple of single core apps which are being held back by the lack of raw grunt, and the mobo isn't helping as its not a great overclocker.

Bulldozers main and only real strength lies in its multi threaded performance (in certain apps). It is often seen as slower clock for clock than the older Phenom II's under lightly threaded loads whilst consuming significantly more power.

TBH in your case changing from your overclocked 1055T to one of these would be a side grade at best.

If you need more grunt from single or lightly threaded apps your only real choices are Intel (2500k) or pushing your current 1055T further (sounds like you have tried this already with your MB comment).

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think I can get any more out of it. It used to be 3.8Ghz, but I went from 2x2Gb to 2x4Gb ram sticks, and it wasn't stable so I had to drop the clocks down which was annoying.
