AMD FX4100 vs Intel Core I3 2100 for gaming

Since the core i3 2100 3.1GHz is roughly equivelant to a Phenom X4 @ 3.8 GHz and the FX4100 and the i3 2100 are at the same price which would be better for a budget gaming build?

FX4100 at 4.2GHz is slower than a Phenom II X4 at 3.7GHz (yea...new CPU slower than old CPU can you believe that!?)

...so with i3 2100 lower power consumption, cooler running and superior performance in games that use less than 4 cores, I would say it's no-brainer really.

This is terrible! It runs hotter, is more expensive, less OC friendly and most impressive of all slower clock for clock than the old Phenom X4.

What was even the point of releasing this cpu?

Only the 8 cores are a bit better but the 6 and 4 cores make no sense when they are slower than X4's and X6's.

So much hype and anticipation and all those many many delays for nothing.

AMD let it slip abit on this one considering the amount of cash thrown at it. Intel must be laughing their socks off!

Just ordered a P2 955 BE + mobo for a gaming rig. Bulldozer holds no advantage when it comes to value in this case!
