Amd fx8320 temps as o/c increases

As the title suggests. What margin of temperature increase am I looking at when i overclock the cpu.
Maximum temp ive seen with load (bf4) was 51c with turbo mode (4.0ghz).
With that temperature in mind what safe overclock increase am i looking at?

Make sure you are looking at the right value, it is not the module one IIRC. This needs to stay below 65c.
 
package is the socket temp (under 70 deg c)

tmpin x under the voltages readout one is the core temp (under 62 deg c)

i found 4.0ghz to 4.5ghz on a vcore increase from 1.375v to 1.4v went up about 8 deg c.

it really jumps up when you go past there. for me on custom watercooling from 4.7ghz to 4.8ghz was almost 10 deg c hotter running ibt.
 
Aha. I believe the temperatures for the voltages etc were around 44c.
However, im only using a raijintek direct cpu cooler but i guess i have some room then.
 
That sounds about right if it's stock. My 8350 at 4ghz with ibt running gets to about 41deg c from what I can remember. That's the socket temp or package in hwmonitor.

Sorry for picking your brain but I would only O/C to about 4.4ghz at most I think.
Would voltages need to be changed at that range or would just the multiplier be sufficient you think?

Get stable first then start backing off the voltage in small increments till it flakes once more. Increase slightly and you should have stability with less heat.

Thank you for the reply. Would stability come from increasing the multiplier first? And then up to a certain point where the chip becomes slightly unstable I would start to increase the voltages slightly?

Yes. Then do the opposite via locking the multi an increasing your FSB. For the same overclock one method will offer less heat or may edge ahead of the other method.
