Remember Japamd? Creator of radeonpro. Well looks like he added his first bit of work to the AMD app.

Even has reply mode :) am sure this means you can get back the missed recording?
What replay times have you found to be optimal for games?

We provide the following replay options:
15 secs
30 secs
60 secs
120 secs
180 secs
240 secs
300 secs
360 secs
420 secs
480 secs
540 secs
600 secs
Each time is really on a per game and per user basis, but what I've found:
Two full (with both players taking maximum time) Hearthstone turns: 180 seconds which is 3 minutes.
Opening Hearthstone Card Packs: 15 seconds
League of Legends Pentakill: 60 seconds
That Amazing Call of Duty Kill streak: 30 seconds
That Watch_Dogs 1 on 1 online hack: 240 Seconds which is 4 minutes
But be sure to find your own preferences!

So can this record games using Mantle or is it DX only?
Also, can it record separate audio streams for in-game audio and additional audio (teamspeak, ventrilo, etc.) or is dxtory still required for that?

DXtory for separate audio streams. I don't think we see this feature for very long time if at all. This one feature dxtory seems to have a that no other recording software has.

Just directx am sure. Mantle recording will come when it gets released open to the public.

That would be some catch if it can record Mantle footage. My head says it won't be able to though...unless Raptr/John are part of the Mantle beta. Can someone tell me how to update my Raptr? lol

I can't even test, I have no Internet till 27th this month, over two months now. The great life of moving into new housing and lines etc not finished.

Pity on both counts really.
Might be useful one day if they can get those points sorted.
Would also be nice if it wasn't part of Raptr.

Isn't Raptr available to anyone, not just AMD too? (It's just the basis of what is used in AMD's Gaming Evolved app?)

Yeah if I was recording I would always go with dxtory no matter the performance hit, based solely on I can edit audio to my liking.
But if you someone who don't care about teamspeak or even bother joining chatting software then this will be great.
Am not sure, I know raptr is open, but is the AMD app?

Bit off feedback from raptr forum.
Okay, nevermind its working, incredibly smooth, I mean almost no performance loss, well done! I wouldn't mind a button that allows you to control how much encoding is being done, 400 mb for 3 min video not too bad

Haha yes I was, haven't ran it in a while though as the pop ups were ******* me off :p

Glad amd are getting a shadowplay equivelant, hope the perf hit is as minimal as well :)

You can disable everything that pop up in the notification part.
You can have it so the program will never bother you. It's highly customizable.

Not been able to test, has AMD app added radeonpro OSD yet like fps counter?

Last time I tried the FPS counter on raptr is wasn't very good.
This the only reason I still have RP installed.

You used 7Gb ram this including while running a game? Out of my 16Gb most I have ever used is 35% around 6GB and that was while running a game.
On desktop it's around 2gb mark.

2014 and we having a discussion on ram use lol

Most of those games you can pick up really cheap either in the MM or in sales.

The app was rubbish at optimising games for me which is one of it's main functions. Still see no reason for me to re-install it.

It come along way since its first release. With its massive following now getting the best settings for your games is becoming much better.

nvidia users can use it and get their games, the only thing they wont get i think is gpu driver update.
iv been using the app for about 4 months, i won a silver code for 2 games, and have 8k points with which i can buy some game, the app never spammed me with adds, and while playing like a usualy do, i get a free game every 6 months or so, not a bad deal i guess.
titanfall is at 25k points though, it's like over a year of using the app...
im not into streaming i have 1mega dsl, and not into uploads either, but i know a lot of ppl would like the new feature.
optimisation i dont know, games are always maxed out for me with a 280x... but in the witcher 2 ubersampling was enabled thing that droped my fps sub 50.

Talking about the recording. Evolved uses amdapp something am not sure nvidia can use?
