AMD Gaming System spec needed

My friend wants to build a new gaming rig, however he's a total AMD fan, always owned AMDs and totaly belives they are the best. He's a bit brand loyal, I've told him and shown him Intel vs AMD comparisons with Intel clearly in the limelight. However, he wants an AMD. Totally ignorant, but hey, it's his money.

He's asked me to help him build it, which I've agreed to and come up with a few specs. This is where I need help. I'm fine with Intel CPUs and MOBOs but I have no idea with AMD. All of the big gaming rig suppliers don't seem to have AMDs to copy a decent template from.

So, if you lovely chaps wouldn't mind. I need an AMD speccing for around £1000 (system only). It's going to have an ATI 4870x2 and it would be great if there was room to upgrade in the future to crossfire.

I'd suggest getting a black drive over a green one personally, for the improved performance

Use the money saved on this PSU, so he can crossfire two 4870x2 in the future.

I think this is a pretty good setup; I changed it from DDR3 to DDR2 to get thr good sound card. You've gotta have good sound with your games!
