Hi, I tried 6 BIOSes and only 2 flashed succesfully but GPU-Z showed clocks as -1 and MSI AB was blocked, the fan was spinning like 45% roughly?
The question is, what is the difference flashing through Windows or DOS?

I flashed 2 bioses succesfully but they didn't work, I changed to DVI as some BIOSes disable hdmi port on HIS ICEQ 7950 e.g. Gigabyte 7970 but it didn't work, I got the bios from one of the members of the forum. The only thing that made me think is why the BIOS had .bin and not .rom? Maybe this was the cause of bad flash?
Although i flashed my own bios back got 3 copies of it on 3 drives just in case :)

If your using ATIflash it will not recognise .bin, only .rom

I'm also debating on flashing my Powercolor MYST 7870 from 0.28 to the apparently better 0.32 BIOS, but don't have an iGPU so can't do it via DOS.

I'm wondering how dangerous it is to do it in windows.

If you have dual bios then theres barley any risk, not sure how it works on cards with no bios switch... Tomorrow I will check the 3 bioses on tpu as I find flashing through windows a lot easier with less hassle.
Thanks for the info about atiwinflash, I would leave the card as it is, if I was you. I need to flash my card to get lower temps, voltage and better oc :)

No dual BIOS so I might leave it as is. i'm probably only going to have it until October anyway.

You have crossfire don't you?

There's no risk there then either if you flash one card at a time.

Who me? no.... Without thinking I just keep buying shiny new GPU's that call my name.

I wanted to tryout Tahiti LE and so I bought one, now I see the HD 8000 series coming and calling my name...
